Ground Chasm

A priceless spell usually used by Earth Magic. You open a pit to swallow and crush your foes. It has close range and opens a chasm that affects Explosion 2 areas. Without mana this spell has no effect, but with mana anyone who fails to dive out of the pit falls in, and a complication starts against agility. Each individual must succeed, and the total required is the caster's skill score. The move attempt suffers a penalty (-2) unless you have a fly speed or the climb ability. The failure consequence is Agony and Trauma. Targets in the chasm may not attack or be attacked, and when you succeed you are placed in any area adjacent to the pit facing any direction you choose. When all targets have either escaped or been destroyed, the chasm closes, until then the affected areas remain a pit that new targets may fall into.
