Foundation Stone Wanderer

Not all disciples of Foundation Stone temples become priests. Orphans raised within the monastery have the choice once they come of age, and while most shave their heads and perform their vows some go back out into the world. Even priests may give in to temptation and break their vows. The order is ashamed of such renegades, but they are forbidden to kill. The worst offenders may be retrieved and imprisoned, but more often priests will just keep trying to convince trouble-makers to repent.

You are not a priest, or at least not a very good one. You put your training to uses that dismay the stodgy monks and Abbots, but who are they to judge? They forget, the Outsider was a renegade too. As long as you don't cross certain lines there's little risk of the order cutting your tendons and destroying your martial power, or chaining you in some dungeon while a circle of Guardians chant at you for eternity.

  • Fool. You are an aberration. You eat meat, drink wine, and incessantly make trouble. It is said that the Outsider loved mischief and clowns, they keep drama at bay. And there's something holy and heroic about you, enough so that even the Abbot puts up with your childish pranks and flagrant transgressions. Fools are often flamboyant or forgetful.
  • Pilgrim. You aren't tied to a temple, but rather a Sutra, a special scroll with the words of the Outsider. It may be a Sutra that you possess and need to guard or deliver, or perhaps you haven't actually collected it yet. Either way you must stay on the move, visiting temples and holy sites along your journey. In some rare cases pilgrims are cursed and hunted by demons within and without, and simply can't afford to settle in one place for too long.
  • Outcast. You threw yourself into the physical training, but not the spiritual. If you ever had faith it was shaken by some terrible event, and you have put the Outsider and the Foundation Stone behind you. Now you do as you please, and if the priests don't like it they can come out from behind their walls and meet you in the real world. Outcasts can be ambitious or violent, frightening when combined with the power of Foundation Stone training.

What kind of wanderer are you? Are you seeking something, or is something seeking you? Do you still cling to your faith or have you turned to ruthless pragmatism instead?
