Valiant Societies

Campaigns best suited for Valiant characters.

Free Shields Stand Against the Storm

  • The story: The Free Shields openly rebel against the Tigers, touching off widespread rebellion.
  • Who you are: Talented young members of the Free Shields, or older members who never achieved greatness but still might. Brave Mouse Nation locals who stand with the Shields despite the risks and costs.
  • What you do: Stop Tiger troops from committing atrocities in the name of order. Battle the spirits and monsters drawn to the chaos and upheaval. Make defiant last stands against insurmountable odds.
  • Themes: The Free Shield rebellion is likely doomed to a tragic end, so sacrifice will play a heavy role.

The Bloody Victory of the Glory Fists

  • The story: The Glory Fists make their push to unseat the Righteous Text and rule the Wilderness of Blades.
  • Who you are: Talented young members of the Glory Fists, or older members who never achieved greatness but still might. Tigers who trained with the Fists and owe allegiance to them.
  • What you do: Fight in martial tournaments. Sabotage opponents and disrupt entire factions. Struggle even with each other to make a name for yourself and rule all the Valiant Societies.
  • Themes: What does it mean to win at any cost?

Romance in the Shadow of the Righteous Text

  • The story: Sages and scholars find love amidst the chaos in the Wilderness of Blades.
  • Who you are: Any member of the Righteous Text, or anyone romantically entangled with a member of the Righteous Text.
  • What you do: Pursue a romance that defies the strictures of the Righteous Text. Prevent others from making terrible mistakes. Face betrayal from within and threats from without.
  • Themes: Is love really the most important thing there is?

The Fall of the Foundation Stone

  • The story: The Empire has attacked the Foundation Stone. The temples are burning, and everyone but your band have been captured or killed.
  • Who you are: The last survivors of the Foundation Stone, or those sympathetic enough to their cause to risk staying with them.
  • What you do: Evade Tiger assassins. Survive in the harsh real world outside the temple walls. Rebuild the temple, one stone at a time.
  • Themes: What happens when the preachers of peace and forgiveness are truly put to the test?

A Turn of the Magic Wheel

  • The story: Demons rampage across the land, and the other Valiant are too wrapped up in their own troubles to do anything about it.
  • Who you are: Oddballs and outsiders. The poor and downtrodden being menaced by the mystical, and the Magic Wheel wanderers who move among them both seen and unseen.
  • What you do: Battle demons for the souls of the Small people. Form uneasy alliances for the greater good. Discover secrets of the raised hells that threaten sanity.
  • Themes: How far will you go to save the innocent?

A New Generation of Greats

  • The story: 75 years ago a band of Green adventurers meet by chance and become sworn brothers, sisters, lovers, and enemies. Every advance skips the campaign forward 15 years.
  • Who you are: The original band, their descendants, or anyone related to them.
  • What you do: Gain power and influence in the Wilderness of Blades. Come into conflict with the other Greats. Avenge the wrongs done years before.
  • Themes: Revenge and destiny mix as the same lives and families intertwine over the generations.

The Patriotic Outlaws

A New Society Ascends to Greatness

  • The story: Shunned by the recognized Valiant, you fight to form your own School or Clan and become one of the Greats.
  • Who you are: Exiles from other Valiant Societies, unorthodox prodigies, and heirs to ancient lost clans.
  • What you do: Discover lost martial styles, or create your own. Prove yourselves to the Valiant, or destroy them. Build your organization to a world power.
  • Themes: Are you righteous or deviant in your pursuit of power and survival. Which Valiant Society will fall to make room for your ascension?

The Unrighteous and Unorthodox Must be Destroyed

  • The story: Deviant cults are abusing martial power, and the Righteous Text leads a crusade to eliminate these scourges.
  • Who you are: Members of any Valiant Society that wishes to help, or at least appear to help the war against the cults.
  • What you do: Battle those who abuse their mystical fighting power. Discover that sometimes good and evil are difficult to tell apart.
