There are twelve facets that represent different areas a character may have to check against. Each facet is rated on a scale from 1 to 5:
- 1: Terrible
- 2: Competent
- 3: Accompllished
- 4: Excellent
- 5: Superior
The facets for Wilderness of Blades are:
- Combat: (maybe Swordplay) Fighting, weapons, and military strategy.
- Courtesy: Manners, public speaking. (Replaces Communication)
- Learning: Rituals, writing, and research, alchemy, healing, and poisons. (Replaces Machinery, Medicine, Sorcery, and Scholarship)
- Lightness: (was Agility) Speed, balance,and control.
- Meditation: (Was Energy or Harmony) Soul, life-force, and raw power.
- Mischief: (was Guile) Stealth and trickery, and Subterfuge.
- Romance: Appearance and purity. (Replaces Charm, Appearance)
- Sense: Perception, intelligence, and critical thinking.
- Strength: Endurance, hardiness, and might.
Becomes its own thing replacing Focus and states
- Will: Confidence, determination, and Spirit.
- Fortune: Status, Resources, luck, and wealth. (Replaces Rank)
- Harmony: Survival, animals, and Wilderness.
