Each ability offers special options or exceptions for a skill. Usually a skill will have six associated abilities, which also helps guide you about the kinds of things a skill is used for. Abilities are purchased in level, and each level costs 3 points. A level 1 ability requires that you have a 10- score in the appropriate skill. A level 2 ability requires that you have level 1, plus a 12- score in the skill. A level 3 ability requires that you have level 2 and a 14- score in the skill.
