Range

Range applies to detect checks, ranged attacks, and social interactions. Items that have a range keyword may be used up to the distance listed below, otherwise an attack is limited to your reach. Measure the attack line between you and the target. The distance upwards is counted and simply added to the horizontal range, but distance downwards is not counted unless it exceeds the distance across.
- Voice: A normal voice is audible and understandable at Short range. You can scream without using understandable words to boost this to Long.
- Sight: Sight may only be used in front of your flank. By default sight uses extreme range. Terrain or darkness may block sight at specific ranges or reduce the bracket. Likewise with a clear line of sight you may see large objects even farther away, but not make checks against them.
- Sound: Sound may be detected regardless of your flank. By default hearing uses long range. Very loud noises (such as a gunfire or thunder) may be heard at extreme range.
