Assets are resources that you have as a group. As the band advances it will become more wealthy in general, even if individual members are not. Regardless of your character's individual resources you may the band's assets. The band's leader has the final decision on who may pick or use an asset. Note that it is possible to gain assets in play through means other than advancement, and it is also possible to lose an asset through chance or mismanagement. You may select the same asset multiple times.

Reputation

A rep is attached to your name and impression, so you do not gain the benefit if disguised.

Asset Tier Keywords
Local Fame 0 Rep: Gain an impress bonus for all residents of a single region.
Notable Name 1 Rep: Gain a bonus on impress rank checks.
Prominent Celebrity 2 Rep: Gain a bonus on rank checks, and a reaction bonus if recognized.

Favors and Grudges

These assets can be earned or lost through your actions and behavior. Losing a favor usually involves it returned through danger, sacrifice, or the gift of an equal asset (key information may count) from the person or group who owes the favor. A grudge is the opposite, and can counter or be countered by a favor. You can lose a grudge if the person or group would earn an equal favor. You lose a grudge if you accept the target as a friend or lover, and may lose it just by failing to take an opportunity to harm the target. Note that a grudge can be against one target or a group of any size, but the larger the group the more likely you are to meet a member that will make it difficult to keep the grudge.

Asset Tier Keywords
Minor Favor 0 Use: Reimburse from an adept denizen.
Minor Grudge 0 Use: Spend 1 focus to gain +3dE against the target.
Notable Favor 1 Use: Reimburse from a remarkable denizen or a minor organization.
Notable Grudge 1 Use: Gain +1dE against the target, spend 1 focus to gain another +3dE.

Momentous Favor 3 Use: Reimburse from a supreme denizen or dominant organization.
Momentous Grudge 3 Use: Gain +3dE against the target, spend 1 focus to gain another +6dE.

Coin

Coin is used for buying, selling, and trading. In Shiyan, currency is usually exchanged in copper coins, or sometimes strings of coins or small silver ingots. Treasure is the equivalent of many silver or gold ingots, and often takes the form of paper notes backed up by the issuer's reputation. Coin can be used to acquire assets (especially Equipment) and services during play.

Asset Tier Keywords
Currency 1 Use: Eliminate strapped or purchase a tier 1 item.
Income 2 Use: You gain 1 Currency each respite or by spending 1 focus.
Treasure 2 Use: Exchange for 10 Currency or purchase a tier 2 item.
Prosperity 3 Use: Gain 1 Treasure each respite or by spending 1 focus.

Legacy

A legacy can be eliminated by destroying the family or the asset which is handed down through each generation. Legacies are especially important in Saga campaigns, and are usually gained when a character becomes august or supreme and has a signature asset that could be bestowed to family or an equivalent follower.

Asset Tier Keywords
Legacy 3 Use: Pick any asset you own. Future relatives start play with that asset.

Followers

Companions are single personalities that you play in addition to your character. Troops come in groups of 5 statistically identical denizens. Followers are lost if they are killed or mistreated. You control any followers normally, but if they gain markers they revert to referee control unless you use a snap. Followers use your reflex. Note that momentum and interference are by player, so if a follower generates one or the other the affects apply to the player's next roll, regardless of which character is checking.

Asset Tier Keywords
Minor Companion 0 Horde, Follower: Built on half your points (round down), maximum 5 points.
Minor Troop 0 Horde, Upkeep, Follower: Five built on 0 points.
