When you attack you deal 1dE per marker to all occupied areas, up to a maximum of your slam. Any marker that suffers hits (or an equivalent like bleed, burn, or kill) is destroyed. All other types of effects are ignored. Stagger doesn't have the normal effect, but deals grit to the swarm instead.
